Height of Male: 18 inches (45.7 cm.); Height of Female: 16 inches (40.6 cm.).

Circa 100 B.C.- A.D. 250

Beautifully burnished ceramic couple with multiple designs overall, each wearing ear ornaments. The male is playing a small drum held between his legs, and sports the typical horn-like headdress. The female holds her hands on her hips, displaying a delicate femininity.

Materials: Burnished clay, native pigments.

Condition: Some minor repairs on each figure. They are otherwise in very good condition with a fine surface.

Provenance: Acquired from the Pre-Columbian Collection of Mr. & Mrs. Donald Goldstein of San Bernardino, California. These objects were collected during the 1960s.

Exhibited: February, 1978, "West Mexican Tomb Sculpture", California State College, San Bernardino. This couple is sold with a poster of the exhibition.
