ATADA Policy on Stolen Objects:

Read below for instruction on how to report stolen items.

Remember – it is impossible to photograph objects after a theft occurs. Be sure that you save high-quality digital images and an inventory promptly after each purchase. We recommend that you maintain a promptly-updated database of your collection or gallery inventory.

What to do in the event of a theft:

FIRST STEPS TO TAKE: 

1. When there is a loss, make a police report locally, not on the Internet.

2. Report your loss to your insurance company.

3. Share this information by email, fax, or snail mail with others who can use this information.

AFTER COMPLETING THE ABOVE...

Send the following information to director@atada.org.
Be sure to put "ATTN: Theft Alert" in the subject line.
Please include: 

1. a police report number, and the name, email address, address and phone number of a police officer to contact with information

2. the name, address and phone number of the person making the report (we will post this information)

3. .jpeg images and a detailed description of stolen objects including dimensions.
   NOTE: ATADA will verify the accuracy of material received before posting any information.

We will respond to your notice as soon as possible; however, please be aware that it may take up to 48 hours for your notice to be posted.

We request prompt notification when the material is recovered.
